Emotional intelligence is central to the way in which teams work. This diagnostic is aimed to make teams look at their emotional intelligence and will make them aware of the way in which it affects the team dynamics and results of team projects.

Self-regard, how you view your self-worth, is also one of the emotional competences identified by Reuven Bar-On, Ph.D. This exercise can be completed as a group exercise as part of a team-building event for increasing self-awareness and confidence among team members. The group must know each other reasonably well for this to work. If the group do not know each other well, they will need to concentrate on positive first impressions.
Leadership (the ability to formulate a vision and to inspire others to follow it) and change catalyst (recognising the need for change; removing the barriers and inspiring others to act) are two of the social skills or core EQ competencies identified by Goleman. This exercise is aimed at managers at any level and is designed to encourage them to identify a possible need for change and plan how they would implement and sell it in the workplace.
